A key part of our commercial property work is landlord and tenant. We have acted for substantial institutional clients in a number of the higher profile lease transactions in recent months and also act for a large number of landlords both big and small, particularly in the industrial, office and retail sectors.
The hotel sector is a growing part of the team’s practice as is the purchase/sale and leasing of pubs, nightclubs and care homes where we can call upon the expertise of our corporate and employment colleagues to assist with the business transfer aspects of the deal.
Tax is more and more the driving force behind a deal’s structure and we liaise closely with a client’s accountants and tax advisors to ensure that benefits can be maximised from the point of view of Capital Allowances, SDLT, VAT, corporation tax and CGT.
