As a dual qualified planning law specialist, I provide strategic and detailed planning advice to private and public sector clients at all stages of the development process.
My recent experience covers complex development and infrastructure projects in the residential, retail, mixed use and energy sectors.
I advise landowners and developers across the UK on securing consents for their proposed developments and the extent of permitted development rights; the application process for ‘varying’ planning conditions and acquiring Certificates of Lawfulness; and provide retail planning advice to supermarkets and high street retailers.
I also negotiate planning agreements and undertakings; facilitate the modification and discharge of such agreements and undertakings as well as the removal or variation of their conditions; and advise on planning and enforcement appeals and judicial review or statutory challenge of consents.
Advising property developers and objectors at all stages of the planning application process, I ensure procedural requirements are met, duties of officers and members regarding the fair treatment of applications have been carried out, and that impartiality is maintained.
I support the Davidson Chalmers Environmental, Waste and Renewables team, providing advice to energy developers on pre-application procedures such as EIA screening and scoping; legal review of environmental statements; and the drafting of supporting documentation, Proposal of Application Notices and pre-application consultation.
